A Woman's Reproductive System
A woman's reproductive system is an extensive system in the body. It is responsible for the various stages of reproduction. A woman who protects her reproductive system has control of her health when becoming pregnant.
Prevention is the first step of maintaining a healthy reproductive system. Things such as birth control, keeping up good hygiene, and safe sex are some ways to implement this. There are many contraceptives a woman may take such as: pills, patches, and shots. While these methods do not 100% prevent STI's, they do promote autonomy in a women's choice of conceiving.
It's no secret that many young women are engaging in sex. Being responsible and practicing safe sex are major components of a woman's health. It is important that women protect themselves, not only from unexpected pregnancies, but STI's that can be transmitted from their partners'. It is also important to not only wear condoms, but knowing your partner and limiting the number of sexual partners. Women getting tested regularly along with their partners, will reduce the spread of STI's and ultimately promote a healthy reproductive system.
Good hygiene is important for women. This is a good way to prevent bacterial infections. The media likes to promote things like vaginal soaps and douches which are in fact detrimental to the overall reproductive health of a woman. The proper way to maintain good vaginal pH is through bathing regularly and maintaining a healthy balanced diet.

There were a lot of useful information within this post! Some people are careless when it comes to taking care of themselves; it's always important that you know what's right for your body and to protect it at all costs. I believe that the reproductive system is the most delicate system, because it requires the most gentle care, and I agree that contracting STI's can affect the reproductive system. I feel as though STI's are the most common problems that the reproductive system has to deal with. People tend to not use condoms or get checked which can result in future complications, like with pregnancy as you said.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be helpful if in your next post you include what happens to the reproductive system when you give birth or when you're pregnant. I think that would be very interesting to find that out more in depth, since you briefly mentioned pregnancy in the beginning of your post. I would also suggest that you could include different surgeries people consider when there's something wrong with their reproductive system. I'm just throwing ideas out there just in case you were still brainstorming ideas. Can't wait to see what else you have in store!
Very informing post. You definitely covered a wide range of topics regarding reproductive health. As women, it is vital that we are well aware of the state of our reproductive health. I know in 5th grade they teach most young girls about reproductive health, but it is not seen as the most glamorous topic. People tend to avoid speaking about reproductive health because it may seem weird or uncomfortable when in fact it is completely natural. I love how you shared about good reproductive health hygiene. There are many myths out there about the best way to practice good reproductive hygiene. The fact that some, such as vaginal soaps, are actually detrimental to reproductive health is extremely important to know. I would love it if you talked more about the reasons behind that. It would also be informative for many readers to better understand men's reproductive health as well. Great post!
ReplyDeleteThis was a good first post. Our bodies are very important to take care of, especially when it comes to our reproductive system. We have to be careful with what we do because one mistake can lead to STI's or an unwanted pregnancy. We do have to protect ourselves and making sure we keep our reproductive system safe and healthy. Like you said, keeping up good hygiene and safe sex is the right way to avoid those negative situations. We have to make sure of our partner's history and if they're tested. And making sure we're taking our daily showers and keeping a healthy diet to stay healthy. I believe our generation is starting to get more risky and not really worrying about some of these problems anymore, and that's scary. I just hope us women are able to remember these tips and keep our bodies healthy and pregnant-free! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good first post Carol! I agree with everything you said. I grew up around nothing but women, so I know that women go through a lot when it comes to their body. It's extremely important that women take good care of their body! Something that would be interesting to talk about the damage certain birth control could on a women reproductive health such as: Abortions, Plan B pills, etc. This was a great post!
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteGreat informative post. The women's reproductive system is quite complex. We have a lot of tubes and pipes down there that help regulate our bodies so that we can remain healthy whether we become pregnant or not. I agree with the fact that good hygiene is SO important for women, but douching and using all that Summer's Eve stuff is unnecessary. Water and soap will suffice because those things can completely throw off our pH balance. When we discharge, that cleans out everything. We're a self-sufficient cleaning machine. We don't need all that other junk.
I agree, good post. It is nice that women can choose for themselves when it comes to their health. Having lots of birth controls out there on the market is also great because again we get to choose. I think sometimes people get scared/shy about asking their partner, and they want to be able to trust them more in an intimate relationship. Which is why they don't ask personal questions. Personal hygiene is super important, and is bettered through nutrition. Good post
ReplyDeleteI really like your post Carol! You touched on some topics that I think more people need to learn about. Most people know about staying healthy and eating right, but a lot of people don't know about good hygiene. This plays a major role. And most ladies will just use whatever they see in the commercials and not pay attention to the actual product or what their bodies really need.
