The best way to reduce the risk of unintended pregnancy among women who are sexually active is to use effective birth control correctly and consistently. There are many types of contraceptives.  Many teens are having sex at a young age and are not fully aware on ways to protect themselves. Young girls are not educated on how to  properly protect themselves. This is a detriment because this makes it easy to contract STI's or an unplanned pregnancy. A Woman's Reproductive System

A woman's reproductive system is an extensive system in the body. It is responsible for the various stages of reproduction. A woman who protects her reproductive system has control of her health when becoming pregnant. Prevention is the first step of maintaining a healthy reproductive system. Things such as birth control, keeping up good hygiene, and safe sex are some ways to implement this. There are many contraceptives a woman may take such as: pills, patches, and shots. While these methods do not 100% prevent STI's, they do promote autonomy in a women's choice of conceiving. It's no secret that many young women are engaging in sex. Being responsible and practicing safe sex are major components of a woman's health.
